Hiya!!
I finally made this cake and everybody loved it!! I was even surprised myself at how it turned out.
We
were so excited to eat the cake, that I forgot to take a picture!! I
only remembered after midnight when it was already half eaten! That's
why the pic is so dark.
If there is anything left when I go home today I'll take another pic, but I'm sending you this one just incase.
I
didn't use fresh strawberries because here in Namibia, you can't just
go to a store and buy those things! We have have to wait for the season
and for them to arrive from South Africa. (That's why I havent' made the
cheesecake yet – there has been no cream cheese in the country!!!)
So there were no fresh fruits for me to use, so I had to buy the tinned cherries – not amazing, but the whole thing tasted good.
Anything to do with milk, I don't
like, but this was really nice. I'll defo be making it again.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad everyone liked it, its a delicious cake and yours came out great.
Fresh strawberries is great to use for this Tres leches cake, but so is crushed pineapples, cherries, blueberries, any fruit really or even just coconut or nuts. Any filling you like. Also, for the cheesecake, if you can't find cream cheese try looking for Neufchatel cheese its pretty much the same. Hopefully you could find it because the cheese is the main ingredient for the cheese cake there's nothing else that could really replace it.

Thats so nice..... I tried many times asking others to teach me how to bake, but they dont have time.... now I have somewhere where I can go to practice, which is this blog and also your sisters blog. thank you. :D
